Warm Bodies (2013) Synopsis :

The movie starts with R explaining that he is a zombie but doesn't remember who he was or how he became a zombie or how he ended up at the airport. He wanders around and shows you his life.

Julie is with a group of youths, about to go outside the safe walls of the city to retrieve some much needed pharmaceuticals. She tries to grab her boyfriend, Perry's hand but he pulls away. They watch a video about how the zombies are dead, they do not feel, they do not bleed, they are not human anymore and proceed to the outside world.

R tells his best friend, M, that he is hungry so they embark on a journey towards the city.

Julie and her friends are in the drug store when R and his friends burst in to eat them. R is immediately taken by Julie. She sees him but decides not to shoot and aims towards another zombie. Perry shoots R so R attacks and kills him. He reveals that if he eats the body, Perry will come back as a zombie, but if he eats the brain, he will gain Perry's memories and it tas.......

Goofs: Continuity: When Julie and R are running away from the Bonies, they run through the parking garage to use the red convertible to get away. As Julie is getting into the car, she grabs the windshield to sling herself in the driver's seat. Since the windshield is dusty, you can see where she grabbed the windshield from past takes of filming.

Plot: After R (a highly unusual zombie) saves Julie from an attack, the two form a relationship that sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world. Full summary »  »

Story: With much of the world's population now an undead horde, R is a young and oddly introspective zombie. While fighting with and feeding on a human scavenger party, R meets Julie and feels an urge to protect her. What happens next is the beginning of a strangely warm relationship that allows R to begin regaining his humanity. As this change spreads through the local undead population like a virus, Julie and R eventually have to face a larger issue when the very nature of their friendship is challenged. Caught between the paranoid human forces and the ferocious "Bonies", zombies who are a mutual threat, R and Julie must find a way to bridge the differences of each side to fight for a better world no one thought possible. I was looking forward to this since the moment I saw the trailer and sogot myself out of bed for the 10:05 am showing on opening day. Itlooked funny, like 'Shaun of the Dead,' and seemed to have its owninteresting take, which is rare in the zombie genre. Usually the plotsof zombie films are about as aimless as the zombies. The best way todescribe this film is a zombie romantic comedy. It does have someaction and some tense moments later on but the initial set up is thezombie, R's, emotional growth and how meeting this girl sparkssomething in him to evolve. This is nothing like 'Twilight,' and thosethat are saying that have either not seen it or are too absorbed in thefact that the two leads are good looking, which is the only commonalitythis film has with 'Twilight.'But, let's face it, the majority of leadsin films are attractive, so, that's not much to base a similarity on.'Shaun of the Dead' was just a comedy, where this is a comedy withheart and depth. It's a satire, but they don't force feed the point ofthe film, instead they make it very subtle, which is nice.

It wasn't a laugh-out-loud comedy, but I don't know that I necessarilythought it would be when I saw the trailer. It definitely had moreemotional depth than I thought it would which gave me a much fonderattachment to the film than if it had simply been made for laughs. Thetwo leads had great chemistry and were believable and well cast. Thedirecting, writing, and pretty much everything in the film was welldone. I have no complaints. It delivered what it said it would andexceeded my expectations which is rare these days in entertainment.

Going into Jonathan Levine's (50/50, The Wackness) new film WarmBodies, I was intrigued. I didn't know quite what I was going to get asthe concept was fresh and unique.

Zombies have taken over, yet one zombie, named R, played wonderfully byNicholas Hoult has a mind of his own and is not your typical zombie. Hehas a conscious mind at work, and soon he falls for a pretty girl namedJulie (Teresa Palmer) that he encounters.

This is where the movie puts a twist on the whole zombie genre. He soonbecomes enamored by her and becomes more human, as she has stimulatedhis heart. Can a zombie find solace with another person and...love?That is the main theme of this movie, and it's a damn good one.

Their chemistry will draw you in and actually make you buy it, nomatter how ridiculous it is. R's friend, M, played hilariously by RobCorddry steals the show with funny scene after funny scene.

With Warm Bodies you get a mix of comedy, romance, and zombie-horror.It's a fresh spin on all three, and it was truly a fun time at thetheater. It's well paced and has a great feel to it from the get-go,mostly in part to wonderful narration from Holt, and smooth directionfrom Levine.

It's only February but I already found one of my early favorites of2013.

This movie was great! I brought my friends and they thought it wasgoing to be lame but they ended up loving it just as much as I did! Gosee this movie, its adorable! I loved how its dark and gory in a cuteway. This movie is funny, suspenseful, a little bit of a horror andromantic; its the perfect date movie! I don't get scared easily butthis movie made me jump a few times... The whole movie i wasentertained! I was very impressed with the way the make-up and hairteam were able to make the zombies so realistic! R was very easy torelate with and this movie has a little bit of everything for everyone.I suggest going even if your a bit skeptic about it. Go out and seethis movie!
